A mentor is defined as a `wise advisor`. In BGCBIGS terms, a mentor is an older individual who is there to spend time with a younger person to support their development, provide friendship and guidance, and offer a different perspective on the world. Basically, mentoring is an additional caring relationship for a kid. Mentors spend time with mentees in a variety of activities that may include focus on recreation, education or social and life skills. Mostly, mentors have fun with their mentees. This kind of relationship has proven positive results in the life of a child. Click here to learn about the possible impact mentoring can have.

Clubs are places and activities where groups of
children and youth gather with volunteers and staff supervision and leadership
to share time and learn together. All Clubs, like other programs, are free of charge. Our goal is to ensure kids have a place to be safe, be themselves and receive guidance and support.
BGCBIGS offers a variety of programs that support children and youth and their families. Click on the program name to find out more. |
